VNA Foundation is proud that 2021 marks its 25th year as a grantmaker. During that time, over $50 million has been granted to almost 300 different nonprofit agencies located throughout metropolitan Chicago, all providing charitable home- and community-based healthcare to the medically underserved.
VNA Foundation is proud that 2021 marks its 25th year as a grantmaker. During that time, over $50 million has been granted to almost 300 different nonprofit agencies located throughout metropolitan Chicago, all providing charitable home- and community-based healthcare to the medically underserved.
This emphasis on home and community-based care is at the core of VNA’s mission—and also at the heart of its roots. VNA Foundation is the successor organization to The Visiting Nurse Association of Chicago (VNA-C), which from 1890 to 1995 sent nurses directly into the homes of those in need of care.
When VNA-C transitioned into VNA Foundation in 1996, our methods changed but our mission did not: supporting the provision of health services to those who need them most, where they need them most, regardless of inability to pay.
We look forward to continuing to refine our methods to improve our impact, while always staying true to our mission.
