The IMAS Refugee Health Promotion program would offer regular workshops and wellness checks to provide Middle Eastern refugees in the Chicago area with up-to-date knowledge about prevalent health conditions which affect their community as well as increased understanding of the US health care system.
We are seeking support for our psychiatry program, specifically $38,000 to support the cost of compensation for our nursing staff in the upcoming fiscal year, July 2016 – June 2017. Our medical team currently consists of a Medical Director, two additional psychiatrists (one specializing in child and adolescent care), and two nurse practitioners.
To bridge the gap between healthcare and social service, Enlace is currently developing models for healthcare navigation that address mental health needs in Little Village. These models are driven by Community Health Workers (CHWs), address unique community needs and create direct links between CHWs and local healthcare and mental health providers.
