The Emerge program transforms the lives of homeless young adults, some with young children, assisting them to stabilize their lives by providing subsidized temporary housing and supportive services like counseling, medical home security, health/mental health utilization training, life skills training and wraparound case management. The program staff work with 20 clients at a time between the ages of 18 and 24; 15 are single and five have children. During a given year, 35 to 40 individuals and families will participate as clients transition in and out of services. Clients can remain in Emerge housing for up to 24 months as they make progress toward permanent housing, health/mental health management skills and financial stability. Case management services are provided for up to six months after they leave Emerge housing to help them stay on track.
